Recently diagnosed. I think my Gleason score was 6 . My PSA has risen from a 5.9 to 7.3 in a 6 month period. Looking for answers / knowledge/ information. My day has been filled with nothing but anxiety and panic attacks to the extreme. I don't know where it came from but holy Jesus can't shake it.. praying for all because it helps.

A Gleason score of 6 is considered low-grade prostate cancer, which typically grows slowly and may be managed with various treatment approaches that your oncologist can discuss with you. The anxiety and panic you're experiencing after a cancer diagnosis is completely understandable and very common - many community members here have shared similar feelings and found it helpful to connect with others who understand what you're going through.

Denise. God is good-all the time. Be anxious for nothing, but pray. Interesting your psa was going up as a 6 but if that’s what helped your Dr press on to look for why-be thankful! Are you working with a Dr or faculty that is top in your State? If not, get googling!! You deserve the most up to date options! Artie-was androgen therapy the only voice they gave you? 3+4 you have more options than 4+3 so that is good. There are focal treatments, depending on how diffuse the locations or lines involved. Or radiation-super high intensity, high intensity, low dose, or seeding Look up the number 1 hospital for treatment and you’ll have many more options than often a local hospital.

Mark J has good advice. There are many options but not all are available at every facility. I am fortunate to be at a large academic medical center with fancy tools and smart physicians.

Hi Dennis - just seeing this post- I would highly recommend this web site for reference https://youtube.com/@thepcri?si=lukUNSVvAQ8dPRVb Its called Prostrate Cancer Research Institute and it has wealth of knowledge available to you. I had same issue with my PSA and ended up going with surgery - March 2024 and they didn't get it all so I had salvage therapy with 8 weeks of radiation and ADT therapy....bottom line Ive been cancer free and feeling 100% going on 10 months since radiation and ADT therapy. Stay positive and be proactive in your journey and demand the best surgeon or radiologist if that is route you go. Wishing you best 🙏👍

You have a Gleason score of 6 don't even worry about it you're prostate cancer will never spread beyond the prostate if it's a Gleason score 6 you can verify this by contacting the prostate cancer institute out in Arizona they have videos YouTube videos that are just phenomenal I've been diagnosed 5 years ago with Gleason score 8 metastatic stage 4 prostate cancer and I'm doing great I'm just doing hormone therapy intermittent I'm 58 years old I was 53 when I was diagnosed and when I hear you have Gleason score 6 I'm very envious because if I had least before six I wouldn't touch it I wouldn't take any kind of treatment for it I would leave it alone it'll take 40 years before even grows a little some say Gleason score 6 is not really truly prostate cancer it's like a precancer almost but it will never spread beyond the prostate they've proven this time and time again. So please calm your anxiety there's no need for it you're going to be fine.!!
