Just diagnosed. Stage 4 and spread to my lymph nodes. Oncologists seemed to be backup. The soonest they can get me in is end of October. Seems way too long and I’m freaking out a bit. Anyone else still waiting? Is this normal??

Wait times for oncologist appointments can vary significantly depending on location, healthcare system, and specialist availability, though many cancer centers aim to see newly diagnosed patients within 1-2 weeks. It's completely understandable to feel anxious about the timing, especially with a new diagnosis. Consider calling the oncologist's office to ask about cancellation lists or express the urgency of your situation, and don't hesitate to reach out to your primary care doctor or the physician who made the diagnosis to discuss next steps while waiting for your appointment.

I saw oncologist one week after my urologist told me I had a high grade, incurable, but treatable cancer. That’s a good thing, because I don’t wait well, and they would’ve learned that.
