What counts as chemical relapse if PSA rises after prostate cancer treatment?

4 days agoI have a relative who was diagnosed with prostate cancer 30 months ago Disease confined to the gland Treated with Radiation and two years of anti androgen PSA went to zero Four months post anti androgen the PSA is increasing and approaching 2 after four months off drugs Scheduled for PET If PET is normal is this still a “chemical relapse”

The PET scan results will provide valuable additional information, but a rising PSA trend itself is usually the primary indicator that doctors use to assess recurrence, regardless of imaging findings.
