How do I manage Burkinsa side effects and what are my options?

a month agoI was diagnosed with leukemia CLL in November 2025 and started on Burkinsa. Side effects were not very good and the doctor has removed me from taking it. So right now I’m not on anything. Had blood work done on Friday for the first time after stopping and I see her this next week. I’m concerned with how the blood work has turned out because I was diagnosis stage 3/4 and was told I was high risk. Anybody else having side effects with this drug? And what did your doctor do about it?

a month agoManaging treatment side effects can be really challenging, especially when dealing with a high-risk diagnosis. Many patients do experience side effects with Brukinsa, and doctors often have several alternative treatment options available for CLL, so this temporary pause doesn't mean running out of choices. The upcoming appointment will be important for discussing both the blood work results and exploring other treatment paths that might be better tolerated.
