3 days agoI was diagnosed 4 years ago with cmmL. My doctor is watching with monthly labs. Is cmmL the same as CML or is it different? My bone marrow biopsy showed it is stage 0.

3 days agoThese are two different types of blood cancers, though they share some similarities. CMML (chronic myelomonocytic leukemia) and CML (chronic myeloid leukemia) are both chronic leukemias that affect white blood cells, but they have different characteristics and treatment approaches. CMML is actually considered a type of myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative neoplasm, which makes it somewhat unique. It sounds like having regular monitoring with monthly labs is helping keep track of how things are progressing, and many others in this community have experience with similar watch-and-wait approaches for blood cancers.
