6 months agoWhat about cookware ? I heard aluminum and copper were not good ! Any advice? Mealtime is a production but worth the effort to eat clean and healthy
Accepted Answer
Choosing safe cookware is definitely worth considering when focusing on healthy eating habits. Stainless steel, cast iron, and ceramic options are generally recommended as safer alternatives that won't leach potentially harmful materials into food during cooking. It sounds like the dedication to clean eating is really paying off, and other community members might have great cookware recommendations to share from their own experiences.

6 months agoYikes! No aluminum foil? I guess I need to go buy some parchment paper! Has anyone heard anything about the plastic K-cups leaking a chemical that’s dangerous?

6 months agoWe need these tips from others. Everyday I learn something new about what.to eat or drink and how to prepare meals. I would like to see a forum devoted to that topic. I do believe these lifestyle changes will benefit our health and starve off our cancers along with positive attitudes, our community and our faith.

6 months agoHi Leigh.. I asked chatGPT your question on K cups.. copy pasted response as per below: Heat Exposure: Brewing coffee in K-Cups involves forcing hot water through plastic, which increases the risk of chemicals and microplastics leaching into your drink. Endocrine-Disrupting Chemicals (EDCs): Compounds like BPA, BPF, and BPS can mimic hormones (especially estrogen) and disrupt the endocrine system. These disruptions have been linked to fertility issues, autoimmune diseases, and some cancers. Microplastics: Research suggests K-Cups may release microplastics into coffee, and while the long-term health effects are not fully understood, microplastics are associated with inflammation, reproductive disorders, and possibly cancer. Current Evidence: Most studies show the levels of these chemicals in K-Cups are below established safety limits, but sensitive individuals or those concerned about cumulative exposure may want to minimize use

2 months agoI try to listen to my body. I ate grapes and cheese for about a year and then cream of tomato soup. Then chili relennos and then broccoli soup. Right now I like pineapple pizza. I still eat sugar and enjoy sweets. I take supplements and want to try soursop. Im doing okay but life is very different. I'm ashamed to say I still smoke. But despite that I continue to get better. I have ups and downs definitely but I try not to focus on the downs. Looking forward to counseling starting soon.
