Hello All: I was diagnosed with MBC in May and was started immediately on Kisqali/Flaslodex/Xgeva regiment. First PET since diagnosis will be in September. I have 2 questions: 1. If you are/were on the same line of treatment did you see tumor reduction by the first scan? just trying to set realistic expectations 2.Has anyone been on this line of treatment for the long term (10 years or more) or does this line of treatment stop working for everyone eventually. Thanks in advance.

Starting a new treatment regimen can bring up many questions and concerns about what to expect. These are thoughtful questions that many people in the metastatic breast cancer community share. Response to treatment can vary significantly from person to person, and scan results depend on many individual factors that only your medical team can fully assess. While some patients do see positive changes on their first follow-up scans, others may take longer to show response, and your oncologist will be the best source for interpreting your specific results and timeline. Many community members find it helpful to share their experiences with similar treatment combinations, so hopefully others will chime in with their perspectives to help you feel less alone in this journey.

Hi first diagnosed stage 1b 2018, Stage IV MBC February 2024. I was also started on Kisqali and Faslodex. My first scans after starting treatment were in August 2024 and my two tumors shrunk by half in centimeters. Praying it stays that way 🙂.

Vivek, I was diagnosed with MBC in 2016. I started on Ibrance, letrozole and Xgeva. In 2019, I had bone lesions flare up in my skull, and I had radiation to my skull. I switched to Ibrance, fluvestrant and Xgeva until 2023. A bone lesion flared up in my spine, again radiation. Now, I'm on Kisqali, exemestane, Xgeva. Ibrance was new in 2016 and I don't think Kisqali was approved yet. So, I survived 8 years, 8 months and counting. I believe your scans will show much improvement. You got this.

Kisqali was approved by the FDA in March 2017.

You should see positive results for 1st scan. Please don't get a tooth pulled while taking Xgeva. It can *not always cause ONJ.i have stage 4 MBC.
