4 months agoI’m having so much joint pain, from chemo and hormone therapy. How do you manage?
Accepted Answer
Joint pain during cancer treatment is incredibly challenging, and many in this community have found relief through gentle movement like stretching or walking, heat therapy, and working closely with their care teams to explore pain management options. What approaches have others here tried that helped with treatment-related joint discomfort?

4 months agoCandy, I've been on Cymbalta 90 mg every morning since I started my journey 9.5 years ago. There were bone mets on every bone in my body, too many to count. Except below my elbows and knees. Ask your oncologist about getting started on it. My psychiatrist started me on 30 mg the first 30 days, then 60 mg the 2nd 30 days and finally at 90 mg. I've been very fortunate to have very little bone pain. Also statins for cholesterol can cause bone and joint pain. Praying you will be pain free.

4 months agoMovement. I know it seems counterintuitive, but for me, the more I stay sedentary, the worse my joint pain is. If I move around, even a small walk around my apartment every hour, it cuts down on the overall pain and stiffness I feel.

3 months agoI am on cymbalta since my first diagnosis in 2002. I also use a fentanyl patch and OxyContin…..both the lowest dose. I have little pain with those meds, but I can tell when I’ve skipped or am late taking one.

3 months agoAloha it’s a micro algae made off the Kona coast- here is the description: “a brand of dietary supplement containing astaxanthin, a powerful natural antioxidant derived from the microalgae Haematococcus pluvialis. Grown in Hawaii, BioAstin supports overall health, including joint, skin, eye, and brain health, and aids in recovery after exercise.” I feel it works 90% better then Move Free. I introduced my uncle to it and he has stopped all other joint supplements. Take the 12mg once daily on a full stomach because it absorbs best with fatty food.

6 days agoI am on high doses of fentanyl patches oxicodone and dilaudid. I have very extreme bone pain though. Have also had radiation therapy for pain issues. These though made me very sick. I have not had any experience with cymbalta nor had my physician recommended it. I’m going to look into that though
