3 months agofor me i was diagnosed with stade4 breast cancer, spread to the bones and the lungs, i was put on kisqali, letrozol, zometa and zoladex it has been 6 days only that i began the kisqali but on the fifth day i had two injections ( zometa and zoladex) then the next day i had a rash, fever, nausea ,bone pain, headache, i got to the hospital and they said that i had a uti, my wbc are at the normal ( so no neutropenia) then they prescribed me un antibiotic my oncologist wants me to stop the kisqali for the period while i’m on the AB, but for me i’m not convinced that it’s the one that caused me this symptoms, i think it was because of the zometa is anyone passed the same thing to help with the decision??

3 months agoThis is such a challenging situation to navigate, especially when dealing with multiple medications and trying to figure out what might be causing symptoms. Following your oncologist's guidance about pausing treatment while on antibiotics is important, even when the cause of symptoms isn't completely clear. Many people in this community have experienced similar confusion about which medication might be responsible for side effects, and it's completely understandable to want to keep treatment going when fighting metastatic cancer. Have others here had experiences with these medications that might help provide some insight?

3 months agoHydrate before and after infusions, that can help a lot.

3 months agoMaybe your body couldn't take all the meds at once. That is a lot of strong medicine taken near the same time.

2 months agoI am on Kisqali and Faslodex injections for 20 months now. I have been on antibiotics 4 times and had Covid. I had to stop the Kisqali while on Antibiotics.

2 months agoZometa was very damaging to my kidneys after only one infusion. Also had fatigue and bone pain - couldn’t get out of bed for 2 days. I was put on Prolia which has the same bone strengthening properties as Zometa. Thankfully Prolia is a quick subcutaneous injection and not toxic to me at all.

2 days agoI was put on Kasqali when was diagnosed with stage 4 MBC . The first month was awful. Pain, nausea, headache, fever… I prayed to Jesus to just let me sleep through this terrible pain. The second month (where I am now) hasn’t been so bad. I’m 10 days in. I take 600mgs a day . The Lord will see me through…🙏🙏🙏🙏

2 days agoAbsolutely it was the Zometa - I was in very bad shape after the injection - like a horrendous flu. Plus my urine turned clear. The next month my BUN and creatinine were out of whack showing my kidneys were badly hit and was not able to get Zometa. They gave me Prolia which is an intramuscular injection that does the same thing as Zometa and I’ve felt great ever since. I am also on Verzenio and Faslodex.
