2 years agoAny tips on maintaining neutraphil levels while on kisqali? Are there any foods or nutritional supplements that will help keep these levels above where they need to be? Thx!!

Managing blood cell counts during treatment is a common concern that many people in this community face. While there's no guaranteed way to prevent neutropenia through diet alone, maintaining good overall nutrition with protein-rich foods, staying hydrated, and following your healthcare team's monitoring schedule can support your body during treatment. Your oncologist may have specific recommendations or interventions if levels drop too low, so keeping open communication with them about any concerns is really important.

6 months agoI have been told there is nothing you can eat or any type of supplement. Some people swear by turkey mushrooms. I have had allergic reactions to mushrooms, so I have not tried it.

6 months agoMarcy and Glenda, I have also heard that there is no supplemental treatment. I had to have a transfusion because of anemia and getting sick all winter. My immune system is in pretty bad shape. Fortunately I didn't have any reaction to blood products and the process was easy if somewhat lengthy.

6 months agoJoyce G. My doctor says the same thing. Others have told me that dark chocolate daily helps, but not for me. I have mild anemia. So far, my red blood count it has not dropped below 3.5.

6 months agoThat's good Glenda. I am not sure how low mine got but I was exhausted beyond any ability to function well. I had a horrible dry cough and I had really bad shortness of breath. Fortunately a lot was resolved with the transfusion.
