4 months agoWhat is everyone perspective on survival rates?? Is it true more people are living longer due to advancement in treatment? My doctor said that chemo + endocrine therapy combined don’t have advantages of survival rate. This scared me. In which this is my first line of treatment.

Treatment advances have indeed led to longer survival times for many people with metastatic breast cancer, with new therapies and combinations showing promising results in clinical trials. It's completely understandable to feel scared when discussing treatment options with your doctor - many others in this community have shared similar feelings about their first-line treatments and the uncertainty that comes with them.

4 months agoPeople are living longer due to advancements. Your Doctor doesn't sound like a very positive person. I was diagnosed with liver and spine metz last year. I have completed two different chemo regimens. Will have another scan end of the month. Then my doctor will decide what to start me on next. Wish you well, good luck.

4 months agoWe need hope and positivity from our oncologists. I switched my doctor early on when my doctor appeared very dismal about my diagnosis. Like just take your pills and we will see what happens. His prescription was correct but his mannerism was so scary. I felt like he was treating me like get your bucket list ready. My current doctor shares my victories with me however small and makes me smile. Remember there is no expiration date on our foreheads.

4 months agoI'm reading your last entry first. My breast cancer returned after 14 years from original treatment in 2002 to most of my bones (too many to count) in 2016. I went to the ER. I had pancreatitis, oh you also have cancer in your bones. I had a 7 year run with Ibrance and letrozole, then Ibrance and fluvestraunt. Then, other CDK4/6s and hormonal therapies. I was on capsitabine, everolimus, and exemestanin. In July, I had an allergic reaction to an ACE Inhibitor for BP. They did a CT to my neck and found new bone lesions in my upper spine, my last PET SCAN found a lesion in my lung, several in my liver, and ?? In my kidney. I've had some good years 9 yr 8 months with several hiccups. But, I am grateful to be alive
