How to store Kisqali in hot weather without air conditioning?

The formulation of Kisqali was changed again. The new formulation is to be stored not in the fridge anymore, but “at room temperature at 20C to 25C”. “Excursions” down to 15C and up to 30C are permitted. How do those of you who live in hot climates and don’t have AC, or those of you who travel to such area, manage this? I live in Northern CA, and we have already had quite a few “excursion” days, and I expect many more days in the summer when temperatures will exceed even the upper limit of the “excursion” window of 30C. How many such hot days can this formulation take before the ribocyclib loses its activity? I’ve tried to get this information from my pharmacy and from Novartis, but neither could answer.

This medication storage concern is very understandable, especially in areas with high summer temperatures. Many patients face similar challenges with temperature-sensitive medications when air conditioning isn't available or during travel. Some community members have found success using insulated medication storage bags, cooler packs, or storing medications in the coolest part of their home, though it's important to check with a pharmacist about what methods are safe for this specific formulation. The pharmacy or prescribing oncologist may also have additional guidance on acceptable storage solutions for extreme heat situations.
