a day agoAs I sit here in the hospital freaking out, trying my best to stay positive and not totally lose my mind. I am in a fog of disbelief. Just told that they found cancer cells in my blood (stage 4) I don't have a definitive diagnosis still doing a few more CT scans. How am I supposed to deal with this? How much do you tell loved ones when you can't wrap your own head around it? I know they are concerned but I don't want people to say sorry or ask questions that I can't answer. Any advice would help.

a day agoThis overwhelming feeling while waiting for more information is completely understandable, and sharing only what feels manageable right now is perfectly okay. Many people find it helpful to designate one trusted person to share updates with others, or to simply let loved ones know that test results are still pending and more information will be shared when available. The community here understands the challenge of navigating these conversations while processing everything yourself, and there's no right or wrong way to handle telling others during such an uncertain time.

3 hours agoOther than a few scans I've always had a trusted family member or friend go with me to every appointment and treatment. That way I had another pair of ears to hear what the doctor said. I also gave approval for certain family members and a close friend to talk with my team about my care. This was so helpful as I didn't have to remember everything.
