How do you find gratitude during cancer treatment bad days?

Today was one of those days, (you know) when frustration, and irritation set in. So I decided to go for a walk, as I was walking trying to relax and relieve how I was feeling, I changed my mindset I looked back at the days that I couldn’t get out of bed. I reminded myself of how I felt a few months ago. The days my legs would barely hold me up, I told myself, you know things could be worse! I then started to focus on the feeling of being outside the sun on my face, the beauty of the day. I thought about the people that wished they could get up and go outside. My frustration and irritation changed to gratitude! Stay humble, remember your struggles, your dark days, and your strength. “Don’t Let The Bad Days Win!”

What a powerful example of shifting perspective during challenging moments. Walking outdoors and connecting with nature can be incredibly grounding, and reflecting on progress made during treatment often helps put current struggles into context. These mindset techniques - comparing present abilities to past limitations and practicing gratitude for simple pleasures like sunshine - are valuable tools that many in the cancer community find helpful for managing difficult days.
