How do I cope with depression before uterine cancer surgery?

Hi everyone. I have uterine cancer. I will be having surgery on Friday. I am on a very poor mental place go8ng into the surgery and treatment m I am so lonely and so very frustrated. I am also dealing with stroke and visual and hearing impairments I tried utilizing the Cancer Buddies application but can't seem to get it to work for me. I am so very desperate to talk to someone. I feel like just giving up. Even though I know I need to have surgery and treatment I just have no desire to follow through. My body and mind are tired. I have no will to fight anymore. I am in so much pain emotionally and mentally I can't find the will to do much of anything. I have major depressive disorder and this is heavily affecting me. I need a reason to fight but it just seems like there just isn't much hope. I am terrified of going into surgery in this mental state. I really think that I had a second stroke during my D &C procedure. This hysterectomy surgery is longer and more complicated and am terrified of having another stroke l. I have verbalized this many times but no one seems to take it seriously. I was doing psychotherapy but it stopped abruptly and now I'm sort of adrift. I am so confused and unhappy. I just don't know what to do anymore. Everytime I try to make connections I hit a road block. Could be something that I'm doing wrong. Having a visual impairment just makes navigating websites and applications nearly impossible. I just want to give up and sleep all the time. Yes I'm on antidepressants but there's so much I'm mentally dealing with that they are just not affective anymore. I desperately need help but no longer no where to turn.

Try asking your doctor for a referral. I know a lot of cancer centers have social workers who can help or point you in the right direction

Facing surgery while dealing with depression and multiple health challenges takes incredible strength, and reaching out here shows courage even when everything feels overwhelming. The combination of cancer treatment, recovery concerns, and mental health struggles can create a perfect storm that makes even small tasks feel impossible. Since loneliness is such a significant part of what's happening right now, please scroll down the page from the Home Screen of the app to find the Ask Outcomes4Me box to get in touch for a more personal conversation and connect with clinical care experts who understand these exact challenges. If thoughts of giving up become more serious, the 988 crisis hotline is available 24/7 and staffed by people who specialize in helping during these darkest moments. Many community members have found that talking through pre-surgery anxiety with medical teams can sometimes lead to additional support options or reassurance about specific concerns. The fear and exhaustion being experienced right now are valid responses to an incredibly difficult situation, and finding the right support connections often takes several attempts before something clicks.
