3 months agoHey everyone. I was diagnosed in 2014. I've been on 3 trial drugs but I keep relapsing. Now they want to try CAR T cell therapy. It consist of staying away from home for 30 days at least.witha care giver. Has anyone had this done yet?

CAR T cell therapy can be a significant step in treatment, and it's completely natural to have questions about what to expect during that month-long process. The community here has members with experience across different treatments and stages, so hopefully others who've been through CAR T therapy will share their insights about the logistics and what helped them prepare for being away from home with a caregiver. Wishing you strength as you explore this treatment option with your medical team.

2 months agoYes. I had CARVYKTI CAR T Cell therapy in March 2023 and was in remission for 18 months. A caregiver is required because the patient is not allowed to drive for 30 days after treatment. You don't need to be away from home if you live only a few miles from the hospital in which you had the CAR T procedure. I had to be away from home and stayed in a hotel 2 miles from the hospital.
