What to expect from first Lutetium treatment for neuroendocrine tumors?

Ask for ice to place on the butt injection site 10-15 minutes before your next injection. Might help ease the pain of the needle but you will still the pressure of the meds being injected. It helped to minimize my soreness afterwards also. Sorry you are having to go through this.

I thought Lutheran was a Protestant denomination? I have Lutathera Nuclear radiation treatments every 8 weeks, via an infusion and injections of another anti cancer drug (lanreotide) every 4 weeks. I have NETS with liver metastases as well as metastatic masses around the bile ducts, bone and spine. The injections (lanreotide) have been fine and depend more on the skill of the nurse delivering them than the meds themselves vis a vis the discomfort felt. The Lutathera infusion is just tiresome and boring as one must first be given amino acid IV’s etc. to protect the kidneys from the treatment and the waiting between treatment stages. I’ve had very few side effects from either other than fatigue and a large lump at the injection site on the buttocks :-) They alternate between butt cheeks for variety….

I, too take Laneriotide. Ask them if they have a spray that numbs that area before the injection. That's how they did me, but I no longer take the Laneriotide because it's too expensive. I'm trying to find some resources that can assist me with payments. I've already missed three shots. If anyone knows of any resources, please 🥺 let me know. Thank you in advance.
