Has anyone had PRRT therapy? I begin Tuesday. Is there any advice as to side effects or things I should/should not do prior or during injection? Any help offered is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Starting PRRT therapy can feel overwhelming, and it's completely natural to want to know what to expect beforehand. Many community members have shared helpful experiences about preparation tips like staying well-hydrated, bringing comfort items for the treatment day, and asking their care team about managing any side effects that might occur. Hopefully others who've been through this treatment will chime in with their insights to help you feel more prepared and confident going into Tuesday.

My PRRT was four hours long and had 2 ivs. It was relatively a non stress event. I was slightly nauseous but easily fixed with meds. I would question your Dr on the success rate. I went through all four infusions but sadly it did not have a positive effect on my tumors. Side effects were mainly being tired .

Eric, I am really surprised that the PRRT didn't have an effect! Did you have receptors? What does your doctor say regarding what's next? Thankfully they are always adding new tools to our toolbox! I don't know much about it and I'm just learning even though I was diagnosed 8 years ago but now I'm facing PRRT starting January 20, 2026 and they told me at MD Anderson in Arizona to plan on 7-8 hours! Mell, how are you doing?? You are probably getting ready to start your second round and I was just wondering how it's going! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
