Is there anyone who has Adrenal Cortisol Carcinoma in this group? My husband was diagnosed 4.5 years ago. His right adrenal gland was removed and tumor surgically in December, 2020. He has had 3 different tumors in the lung , and one lesion in his C-7 vertebrae since the surgery. Does anyone know of any new treatments out there? My husband has had lung surgery and radiation, but has opted not to do chemotherapy. Thanks.

I too had adrenal cancer recently with Mets to the liver. I had three months of chemo, Adriamycin, etoposide and. Cisplatin. Also had surgery to remove the tumor and a liver section.

Wow! That’s overwhelming, I’m sure. Are these chemo drugs effective, or is it too soon to know? My husband and I are in FL. Do you mind me asking where you live or receive your treatments? Did chemo make you very sick?

I live in Pennsylvania. I am being treated at Hillman cancer center. It is world renowned. Worth looking into. Chemo made me very tired. Nausea manageable

My husband was born and raised in Hanover, PA! I will ask his Oncologist about these chemo medications. Thank you!

I have adrenal cortical carcinoma. I’ve been going through it for the last three years two surgeries chemo radiation and now I went alternative and it’s working better than all the other stuff. I’ll always do surgery, but I’m not putting any more chemo drugs in my body.

Thank you for saying that, Pamela. My husband refused the Mitotane chemo that was initially suggested. It was very toxic, we were told. He wanted quality of life. Plus, he is Type 2 diabetic, as well as a heart patient; and didn’t know how the chemo would affect his body and cause other issues. The cancer keeps coming back. He will probably have radiation for a tumor in his lung. It has been a hard battle. I wish there were more options.

Yes, I turned down Mitotain because steroids caused severe anxiety, and I did not want to be on rest of my life. I did acupuncture to get my other adrenal gland to wake up since the tumor had engulfed it. But my surgeon messed up and spilled the tumor. She wasn’t experienced as she told me and no one told me the name of this cancer till after so I know you need to talk to the experts and NIH is who I’ve talked to and they coordinate with your local doctors since there’s not many that are experts in this cancer but I agree my son’s a neuroscientist and the statistics were not enough for me to do Mitotain . What’s working for me now is Essaic T and I do soursop but I’ve been doing a lot of the other things you hear about. But when I started the original 4 herb version Tea my tumors shrunk within weeks so I’m hoping this next CT coming up shows that that’s continuing there is no wrong way. Everyone has to do it the way that’s best for them, but everyone tries to tell you to do this. Do that you need to stop this you need to eat this don’t eat that it gets frustrating so Power to him for choosing his way he wants to go. I’ve just threw in lots of herbs as well into my regiment to help me feel better because I’m still recovering from the chemo 2 yes later that’s what’s caused the worst of the issues not the cancer it’s sad because other countries have way better success in chemo, cause they allow all the herbs and working in conjunction. We all gotta continue to fight.
