4 months agoMy fiance had oral cancer and had half her upper palette and 3 teeth removed, and a skin graft flap with vein implanted to give her help in swallowing. She had the surgery Sept 2024 and is still on feeding tube. She can't open her jaw enough to get dental prosthetics as her jaw has too much scar tissue. Who knows what kind of doctor to search for as we had to leave her team in Orlando as we moved to northern Indiana.

Finding the right specialists after a major move can feel overwhelming, especially when dealing with complex post-surgical complications. Consider reaching out to maxillofacial surgeons, oral and maxillofacial prosthodontists, or head and neck reconstructive surgeons in the northern Indiana area, as these specialists often work with patients who have similar challenges with jaw mobility and oral reconstruction needs. Many major medical centers have multidisciplinary teams that can coordinate care between different specialists to address both the scar tissue concerns and prosthetic needs together.
