Celebrating a clear CT scan is such an important milestone - what wonderful news to share with the community! Many people in this community have navigated similar decisions about next steps after treatment, and connecting with others who understand this journey can be incredibly valuable. Consider discussing maintenance therapy options thoroughly with your oncology team, as they can provide personalized guidance based on your specific situation and help weigh potential benefits against side effects.

My doctor said that my type of cancer is like dealing with a chronic illness that keeps cycling back and that you just keep dealing with it. You can keep doing chemo until you become platinum resistant (or the cancer does actually). Get another opinion! New eyes in the situation are always helpful and insurance will pay for it if they are in your network.

Get at least 3 opinions. I had a reoccurrence and treated with Doxil/Avastin and was Ned for 10 months and Doxil was stopped. Now with another reoccurrence I’m back on it and may be placed in a new clinical study. And I have no genetic mutations.

I was diagnosed with stay3 ovarian cancer. I’m now in remission. Thank God. I have no genetic mutation. But my large tumor has mutation. So my amazing surgeon says that kind of tumor, you would do well in Lanparza . When I first went on it, I was aching all over and very tired. So my Dr. lowered my dosage, and I’m doing much better. What else can I do, I just pray it will keep my cancer from coming back. Blessings to o you 🩷🙏💕

I was diagnosed with stage 3 the first time. I had an ovararectomy and six cycles of chemotherapy. The first taxo I think I was allergic and couldn’t breathe. The nurses were on top of me in seconds to stop it. No problem with the carbo. The next cycle I had taxatere I believe and had lower back pain after 15 minutes. It was stopped for 15 minutes and started back up with no problems. I think the toughest time for me was the first couple of months because water tasted like metal and everyone tried to help me figure out what I liquids I could take. I had to do hydration at least twice a month and at some point my WBC was too low so I had to get zarxio injections. I lost my hair which was the least of my concerns and I lost 40 lbs which I needed. After the last round I was in remission and put on Lynparza. I took it for a little over a year and am dealing with a recurrance. This go round hasn’t been easy. I’ve been hospitalized twice, once for infection and removal of the first port, once for blood clot and put on blood thinner (small dose). I had to have zarxio injections and markers started back going up so did the hysterectomy and getting ready for another six cycles of chemo. This recurring started in February 2025. Oy veh!

Will be glad to share after they finish testing the tumor (originally removed in 2023). I signed release papers to allow the testing. I am not BRCA. I will then be advised as to which clinical study is appropriate. However I visited with my second opinion oncologist last week in LA. He has followed my case from the beginning. He said there may be a more appropriate med prior to a clinical study. I’ll post as I get updates. This time round on the Doxil I am having more side effects however I keep muddling through the best I can.

Received results from my CT scan completed last Thursday. After two Doxil and 3 Avastin infusions the results show I am once again NED. Will be interesting to find out what oncologist has to say on the 9th.
