3 months agoHi I was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in feb 25 I've already had my hysterectomy surgery and I have one cycle of chemotherapy to do. But it's been two scans and they tell me the cancer is gone but they recommend i do the last cycle. I'm debating if I want to do the last cycle. The last cycle I had took my platelets down to 11. I thought I was going to die..so I'm just reaching out for other people that understand 🙃

This is such a difficult decision that many people in cancer treatment face, and it's completely understandable to feel torn about completing your final cycle, especially after experiencing such concerning side effects. While only your medical team can provide guidance specific to your situation, many patients find it helpful to have an open conversation with their oncologist about the risks and benefits of completing treatment versus stopping early when scans show positive results. Consider asking about ways to manage potential side effects if you do proceed, and remember that whatever decision feels right for you after discussing with your care team is valid.

3 months agoHi Robin. When they tell you the cancer is gone, I’m not sure but I believe they are telling you they got the tumor. There could be cancer cells still remaining.

3 months agoI also have Stage 3c. I’ve had 4 rounds of chemo and I had surgery 2 weeks ago, had a debulking, removal of my ovaries and an omenectomy. I also had a resection of part of my colon. I just saw the Dr. yesterday and he told me I was in remission. He said “I got all the cancer out”. I will then have 2 more chemo treatments. I am definitely going yo do both rounds of chemo. I understand you may not want to do two treatments. I’d run it by your Dr., but if he told you he got the cancer out, believe him, my Dr. told me the same thing. I think they do the 2 chemo’s to make sure they got everything. Good luck to you.

2 months agoHappy birthday!! There are lots of side effects, but there was also alot of side effects to chemo, which didn’t really affect me. I’ve read some reviews and most were favorable. There were some that weren’t, too. The nurse said they can always adjust the dose. I will do what I can to keep this away. I hope your birthday was good. So happy for you!! My day was a good one. My family came and watched me and then went out to celebrate 🙌 Ttyl 👋🏻

18 days agoHow are your side effects? My stomach feels blah. Which makes me feel a bit yicky. Not horrible, but I felt better with chemo.
