a month agoI am 56, just got DX in Nov 2025 tail end of my pancreas which was a stage 2. Got it the tail and spleen removed on Jan 2, 2026, went for CT and found out the cancer moved to my liver and now I have stage four. Going to chemotherapy, matter fact I am on my fourth session right now, going for another CT scan on Thursday to see how it’s going.

a month agoChemotherapy effectiveness can vary from person to person, and the upcoming CT scan will provide valuable information about how the treatment is working. Many people in this community have shared their experiences with different treatment responses, and connecting with others who understand this journey can be incredibly helpful during this challenging time.

a month agoI completely agree that everyone responds differently to chemo, and I'm hoping Thursday's scan brings you encouraging news - maybe also ask your team about any symptoms you've noticed since starting treatment, as those can sometimes give clues about how things are going too.

a month agoMy pancreatic cancer is on the head of pancreas. Diagnosed Jan 1 2025, I took 7 mo of chemo. On chemo holiday for last 3 1/2 months. It’s spread to my lungs, now about to take a scan for pain in my left side abdomen. My oncologist says the lungs are no problem the liver is the organ we worry about. I will see what next scan says about any additional spread.

11 days agoAnthony L. Though 30-years older, I was DX when you were. Stage 2 jumped to liver making me Stage 4. How much did chemo help you?

7 days agoI did 4 sessions of chemo and then got a CT scan found out that some of the lesion shrunk and stayed stable. So the removed me from one of the meds. I am stuck doing chemo for the rest of my life or until it goes away or when I go away. I will be going tomorrow for my 6th round of chemo

7 days agoJames Spalt April 1st I started chemo single formula gemcitabine alone, after a 4 month chemo holiday,no other drugs accompanying this drug. First 2 doses 1 week apart. 3 rd dose 2 weeks from 2nd dose due to white blood count low and low platelet count. By low on platelets ,it’s got to be below 30 ct before oncologist will stop chemo infusion, until platelets rise above 35 ct. After 4th infusion I will get a scan of abdomen and chest to determine if there is spread in either area. 1 more interesting issue I discovered last week. 16 mo from my first dose of chemo i came down with heavy abdomen pain and dark orange urine. After visit to emergency room, they determined my Stent’s life expectancy is 9-12,which indicates I’m 4 months past life expectancy ! Scans indicated my stent was partially blocked. Dr administered medication to assist in freeing the stent along with heavy hydration-100-120oz per day.
