Hi. I’m Sue, 65, diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in May, 2025. It’s metastatic to the peritoneum, so stage 4. Have had chemo with folfirinox, which didn’t work, so after two months, I switched to Abraxane and Gemcitabine, which worked for seven months. Now, my CA 19-9 is going up and a CT scan shows some increased tumor action. I’m wondering what the next steps may be. We are fortunate to have access to the Mayo Clinic and Regions Cancer Center for treatment. I have to agree with others here that strong faith in God is essential. Every day is a gift. So is having a partner/husband who is a rock star care giver. Sending all of you positive thoughts as we make our way through this challenging time.

Thank you for sharing your journey and for the positivity you bring to this community despite facing such challenges. Third-line treatment options for pancreatic cancer can include different chemotherapy combinations, targeted therapies based on genetic testing of the tumor, immunotherapy in certain cases, or clinical trials that might offer access to newer treatments. Having access to excellent cancer centers puts you in a strong position to explore all available options, and many people in this community have found hope in discussing these possibilities with their oncology teams.
