Hi. My name is David. I'm from Fresno, California. Recently been told I have pancreatic cancer. Just waiting for the biopsy to be done. I'm currently in the Hospital. Haven't started any type of plans yet. They said they can't operate because the mass is surrounded with blood vessels and my intestines. They said it's too dangerous. I'm scared. I dont want to leave my kids. But with all the pain I'm having. It feels like it's spreading. Every time I have to go to the bathroom my stomach starts cramping up. Does anyone have any advice on what I can take to help me use the bathroom without cramping up. Or any other advice about dealing with this cancer. It would be greatly appreciated. 😔

Managing digestive symptoms like cramping can be really challenging, and it's completely understandable to seek ways to find some relief during this difficult time. Many people in similar situations have found that discussing anti-spasmodic medications or other comfort measures with their medical team can help address these symptoms, so it might be worth bringing this up with the doctors and nurses caring for you. The community here often shares helpful experiences about managing these types of symptoms, so hopefully others will chime in with what has worked for them.

Hi David, Welcome to the community and Sorry to hear that you have so much pain. Have they told you what stage of pancreatic cancer? You should keep your spirits up and be optimistic. I have seen sime even stage 4 pancreatic cancer patients have survived! Changing your nutrition, will help a lot. May I ask How old you are?

My husband is dealing with the same issues he’s on Oxycodone for pain, it helps and He recently started taking Pancrelipase Creon enzymes it’s helped him a lot to be able to eat and less cramping. Hang in there. Replace your fear with positive thoughts, envision yourself there with your children, happy and healthy. keep the faith that you will beat this.

David, 53 is very young! You can beat this! I’m 60 and having a stage two pancreatic cancer, and after six rounds of chemotherapy, they have told me that my cancer has shrunk by half now I know that I have also taken an active role in taking care of my nutrition, much better than before, and that means incorporating about one cup of blueberries per day two purple potatoes cooked some papaya and definitely green tea have helped a lot. I also have been taking Russell sprouts. My doctor‘s not telling me they’re very happy with the results and that my nutrition is helping a lot to cutting most of the carbs and really watching the sweets intake. Hope you find your way here recovery sooner than later. Keeping everyone in my prayers on this community. Please keep us posted of your progress. Wishing everyone all the best :)
