I am a tongue cancer survivor. After 35 rounds of radiation in 2020 I had a complete response to treatment and am cancer free . Only side of treatments are I still can’t eat or swallow and have difficulty speaking. Does any one have an experience similar to mine ?

Dealing with ongoing eating, swallowing, and speech challenges after radiation treatment is something many survivors in this community have experienced. These lasting effects from treatment can be incredibly frustrating, but connecting with others who understand this journey can provide valuable support and practical tips for managing daily life.

I had treatment for oropharyngeal cancer, tonsillar cancer. 7 weeks of once a week chemo, and 7weeks 5days a week radiation. Been 7 months I'm still healing.

My swallowing is getting better, 7 months since the end of treatment. The thick saliva lasted several months. Much better now,but still an issue

Thank you, James. Did you gargle with baking soda, warm water? Does it work? I still can't swallow, a little bit of water, my jaws are sore, feel like my mouth is shrinking.
