Many people in the cancer community have questions about hormone therapy medications and whether they're the right choice for their specific situation. Treatment decisions can be complex and very personal, involving factors like side effects, quality of life, and individual medical circumstances. It's encouraging to see community members openly discussing these important treatment considerations, as sharing experiences can help others feel less alone in navigating these difficult decisions.

Yes. I never started it. Oncology pushed it but would not answer any questions. When I told my breast surgeon I wasn’t taking it she was fine with my decision because my cancer was small and slow growing.

I started taking it, and it made me weak, so I stopped it, my oncologist was okay with that.

I stopped taking the medication. I couldn’t take all the side effects and symptoms I was experiencing anymore. It’s my choice and my oncologist accepted it. I had an early stage cancer, lumpectomy, radiation and lasted one year on the medication afterwards. If I have a recurrence I would have a double mastectomy is my plan. To be on the nasty aromatase inhibitors for 5 years or even try the Tamoxifen I just couldn’t with all the side effects from them.
