Oncologist says I'm in remission but PET scan shows concerning changes?

Hello. I am Julee, mother of 3 beautiful children, 2 boys and 1 girl, and I am engaged to ‘my person’. I was diagnosed with stage 3 cervical cancer on October 31, 2024. Started treatment in December 2024 & completed it at the end of February. So far my PETScans have been good, showing that the cancer is gone… except the last one kinda freaked me out because the person who read it said “concern for slightly progressed disease as it seems to extend farther anterior into the endometrial canal.” My oncologist says it’s nothing to worry about and I’m in remission.

It's completely understandable to feel anxious when scan results contain language that sounds concerning, even when your oncologist has reassured you about being in remission. The medical terminology used in radiology reports can often sound more alarming than the clinical reality, which is why having that direct conversation with your care team about what these findings mean in your specific situation is so important. Many others in this community have navigated similar moments of uncertainty between scans and appointments - you're definitely not alone in feeling this way during your survivorship journey.
