4 months agoAnyone switched from Letrozole to Anastrozole and in doing so reduced their side effects?
Accepted Answer
Many patients in this community have experience switching between different aromatase inhibitors to find the one that works best for them with fewer side effects. Each person's response to these medications can be quite different, so what works well for one patient may vary for another - it's really helpful when community members share their experiences to help others navigate these treatment decisions with their healthcare teams.

3 months agoI have been on Anastrozole for 13 years now and tolerate it well. Praying for a new oncologist that understands that ER+ Herc2- MBC is sustainable for no evidence of disease.

3 months agoChanged from Anastrozole after 18 months due to hot flashes, joint pain, and other issues. Changed to Letrozole and remained on it for 2 1/2 years. Got clearance from my oncologist to stop 1 year before the full 5-year was finished due to joint pain. After 6 months, the joint pain has improved. Now I am on meds for high blood pressure and cholesterol issues (which I feel the meds intro red to). Anyone develop these issues during treatment? I would like to come off the medications - anyone have advice?

2 months agoI did both also, but the side effects from Anastrozole were also too much. I gave up the advice of all medication and chose quality over quantity. I want to live my life as if I don’t have this dire blackness over my head and not being able to interact and live. If we are like-minded people keep in touch.
