Hello Sister Breasties, I have been on an aromatic inhibitor, Letrozole, for a 3 years now. The biggest side effects include diffuse muscle and joint pain and red eyes. I have been cancer free for 4 years ❤️. Btw, I am 76 with Stage 2B breast cancer. Does anyone else have these issues and if so how you manage them. Thank you!

Congratulations on being cancer-free for four years! Joint pain and muscle discomfort are common challenges many people face while taking aromatase inhibitors like letrozole. Many community members have found relief through gentle exercises, physical therapy, warm baths, or discussing symptom management options with their oncology team. What strategies have others here tried for managing these side effects during treatment?

Check to see if this would be appropriate for you, of course, but a use a vibrating plate daily and it definitely helps with my stiffness and aches. It really has helped some.

I have RA and just started Letrazole about 2 months, now was RA meds don't seem to work anymore, ugh. I've also had 2 knee replacements in the same 2 year cancer free journey. Dr says give it another 6 months and let's see. Im seriously contemplating not taking any of this stuff. It's about quality of life and I'm tired of being in pain. I'll turn 65 next year and I want to keep moving around, go back to Disney world and be able to walk the park.
