Blood in urine after prostate cancer treatment - is this urgent?

I finished treatment for prostate cancer but continue to have urinary issues. And the past week have had blood in my urine. No real pain but continue incontinence and urgency with blood involved. I know I should see my urologist but the wait is long and I'm not sure if it would be emergency. Looking for thoughts?

This sounds concerning and it's completely understandable to wonder about the urgency. Blood in urine after prostate cancer treatment can have various causes and typically warrants prompt medical attention, even if there's no pain. Consider calling the urologist's office to explain the symptom - they often have protocols for urgent concerns that might get attention sooner than a routine appointment. Many practices also have on-call services or nurse lines that can help determine if immediate care is needed. Has anyone else in the community experienced similar post-treatment symptoms and can share how they navigated getting timely medical evaluation?

I completely agree with calling your urologist's office right away to explain the blood in your urine - they really do prioritize these kinds of post-treatment concerns, and you might also ask if they have any guidance on what to watch for or when to head to urgent care if things change over the weekend.
