21 days agoMy cancer has returned after radiation therapy, and my oncology team is discussing several diagnostic tests to figure out the extent of the recurrence and plan next steps. They mentioned tests like PSMA-PET scans to check if it has spread, risk assessment to see how quickly it might progress, and possibly a biopsy. They also brought up watchful waiting as an option, which would mean careful monitoring with regular check-ups instead of immediate treatment. I'd love to hear from others who have been in a similar situation with cancer recurrence after radiation. • What diagnostic tests did you have, and how did that process go for you? • If you chose watchful waiting, what was that experience like and how did you make that decision? 21 days agoFacing cancer recurrence brings up so many questions about the right diagnostic approach and treatment timing. Many community members have navigated similar decisions about PSMA-PET scans, biopsies, and whether to pursue active monitoring versus immediate intervention. Sharing experiences with these diagnostic processes and decision-making factors can really help others understand what to expect and how different people weigh their options during this challenging time.

20 days agoI completely agree - hearing from others who've walked this path can be so valuable. How did you handle the emotional side of making these big decisions while dealing with the uncertainty of recurrence.I guess the waiting is the worse of all.
