What should I expect from my PSMA PET scan for prostate cancer?

8 hours agoHi everyone, I just joined. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer last month but I haven't had a PSMA PET scan yet but it's scheduled for next Thursday. I had a biopsy last month that shows a Gleason 8 on the left side and Gleason 9 on the right and my PSA was at 17 when I had it checked last, which was a little over a month ago. As much as I don't want to do the PET scan, I'm looking forward to it because I want to know if the cancer has spread, or is still contained in the prostate. Should I be worried?
