I got germline testing following diagnosis of metastatic prostate cancer. Somatic testing will be done on recurrence/castration resistance. Germline testing showed a BRCA variant of undetermined significance, though it is preliminarily judged to likely be benign. If it had been judged pathogenic, it would have implications for my children, grandchildren and for my treatment.
