10 hours agoI've been diagnosed with prostate cancer and my doctor has explained my treatment options. There are two monitoring approaches - active surveillance with regular tests and biopsies, or less intensive observation. I also have three active treatment choices: surgery to remove the prostate, external beam radiation, or brachytherapy (internal radiation seeds). Each option has different side effects and recovery processes that I'm trying to understand better. I'd love to hear from others who faced similar decisions and learn about your experiences. • If you chose active surveillance or one of the active treatments, what factors helped you make that decision? • What do you wish you had known about your chosen treatment before starting?
