How successful is prostatectomy for contained prostate cancer?

Hi. Had it with rural medicine so i traveled 200 miles to UCLA. Maybe the best thing i ever did. Diagnosed by biopsy and confirmed with PSMA in June 2026. Gleason. (4) 4+4 and one 4+5 and likely contained to prostate. Almost went with proton beam therapy but he wanted me on ADT for 18 months and then after a urilogist friend of mine measured urine flow, the proton beam guy said. "Oh, you need a turp first". That was it. The UCLA surgeon has to be one of the tops guys on the west coast. Does 200 prostecromies per year is a teacher and a scientist. Plus a really cool first name type guy. Arnold Chin. Anyways he said no hormone therapy and my stream would be much better. Got it removed 18 ago. Could not have been easier. Removed the catheter myself 9 days later, no problem. Pathology said cancer contained and of 23 Lymphatic tissue samples, all of the were NON MALIGNANT. A little incontinence but...........EVERYTHING ELSE WORKS DOWN THERE!!!!! Its a miracle. Cant say enough about the entire UCLA experience. They are a class act. So now I wait for a psa test in 3 months. SIGNED, Grateful!
