Has anyone developed hyperparathyroidism after prostate cancer radiation?

Has anyone out there been diagnosed with hyperparathyroidism after undergoing radiation and taking Lupron? I was. I'd never heard of it but it causes even more fatigue, leaches calcium out of your bones, and can cause kidney stones. My cancer doctor discovered it when monitoring my calcium, she noticed it was going up instead of down. She referred me to an endocrinologist. Had the surgery a month ago. Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else, don't know if there is a connection between this and the hormones or the radiation... I was diagnosed with stage 4 Prostate cancer two years ago. Gleason 5+4 (9). Last 3 PSA results were 0.01.

While it's not entirely clear how common this specific combination is, both radiation therapy and hormone treatments like Lupron can affect various body systems, and some patients do experience endocrine-related changes during or after prostate cancer treatment. It's encouraging that your oncologist was vigilant in monitoring your calcium levels and connected you with the right specialist - hopefully others in the community can share their experiences or insights about similar situations they may have encountered.
