3 months agoScan day today. Came back good except consolidation in upper lymph nodes. No increase in lung tumor. Thinking it is infection but dr is gonna have radiologist double check. My boyfriend of 16 years called when I was at appt because he forgot. I was so upset. I was expecting a text saying thinking of you or something I have told him multiple times because I always get stressed those 4 times a year feeling hurt unloved Stressed and pissed off!

Scan anxiety is incredibly real, and it's completely understandable to need extra emotional support during these stressful appointments. Many people in relationships struggle with communicating their specific support needs, especially around medical situations that can feel overwhelming to both partners. Consider having a calm conversation about what kind of support would mean the most to you on scan days - sometimes partners want to help but aren't sure how to show up in the way that feels most meaningful.

3 months agoHey Donna, first things first. Soooo happy for your scan results! Also hoping for the best news for the consolidation. I certainly understand the frustration, stress and being pissed off. I'm going to suggest an alternative interpretation. Could it be possible that he is struggling with the situation as well and just got so involved with his work or whatever he was doing as a form of escapism? I know our cancer journey can be extremely difficult on the loved ones around us. The last thing we need in our cancer journey is to have relationship issues along with it. I'm only suggesting that there might be room for some understanding in this area. There must be at least some attraction if you've been together for 16 years. Stay positive and strong and fight the cancer!
