Living independently can make it feel challenging to know how to reach out when support is needed. Many people in this community understand that transition from self-reliance to accepting help from others, and there are caring people here who would welcome the chance to offer encouragement. For more personal conversation and connection with clinical care experts, just scroll down the page from the Home Screen of the app to find the Ask Outcomes4Me box to get in touch, and remember the 988 hotline is always available if you need immediate support.

Hey Donna, I would love to have a few chats with you to see if you feel comfortable with me. I'm almost 76 and I have stage 3b lung cancer in the right upper lobe. I'm married, in a great relationship for 20 years. She understands that this group is therapeutic for me. I would not be offended if you don't feel comfortable communicating with me. I urge you to seek out some support outside of the home. Mental health counseling is a good non-judgmental place to be able to unload and pick up some strategies for your journey. Take good care, Garey

Hello! Remember me? I'm the same person I was before you were told I have cancer! You say that you are scared, how in hell do you think I feel! Those of us that were told we have cancer have had their lives turned upside down We are not contagious, you will not get it from giving us a hug, shaking our hands, a kiss on the cheek, or touching us. I understand that everyone reacts differently and some people don't know what to say, what to do. Treat us like you did before you knew! We don't want sympathy or a pity party, we need emotional strength and support.🙏 Share with whoever you think needs to read it!

Hey Donna, I'm hearing some pretty good news here. I know a repeat biopsy isn't what you want to do but stay strong and have faith that they'll get it this time around. Everyone in this group is pulling for you. We are all sending you love, positive energy and strength for your journey!

How did the biopsy go this time? Do you have the results yet? I'm still sending you strength to power through all of this stuff. Stay strong!

To Richard Reyes. I just found out I have cancer. I don’t even know what kind or what it’s from. But I do have a lot of family and friends that support me and if anyone doesn’t want to touch me because of my cancer, down the road by my boot they go. I don’t need anyone like that in my life. Please don’t let them bring You down. 🥰🥰 Debbie
