a month agoI have intermediate-risk prostate cancer and I'm thinking about survivorship planning. I came across an article about how mental health should be part of your survivorship plan, and it really got me thinking. The article mentioned that about 25% of cancer survivors experience ongoing anxiety and depression, and that the end of treatment can bring mixed emotions - relief, confusion, fear of recurrence, and everything in between. As I navigate my treatment decisions and plan for what comes after, I'm realizing that emotional well-being is just as important as physical recovery. I'd love to hear from others with similar diagnoses about their experiences. • How did you handle the mental health side of survivorship planning? • What helped you manage emotions during and after treatment? a month agoPlanning for mental health as part of survivorship is a wise and important step that often gets overlooked. Many survivors find it helpful to connect with mental health professionals who specialize in cancer care, explore support groups (both in-person and online), and develop coping strategies before they're needed. Building a strong support network and staying connected with others who understand this journey can make a significant difference in navigating the emotional ups and downs of treatment and recovery.
