Has anyone had Keytruda for kidney cancer?

I was diagnosed with a right kidney cancer (RCC) on July 9, 2026 and had a full nephrectomy on August 6. Before surgery I had an abdominal and pelvic MRI done which shows no signs of cancer spreading. After surgery had a chest CT scan as well with negative results. I'm scheduled to see an Oncologist to receive Keytruda shot treatment. Is anyone receiving this treatment and how bad is the side effects? Thank you all in advance.

Finding community members who share similar treatment experiences can be really valuable when starting a new therapy like Keytruda. Many people in this community have navigated immunotherapy treatments and understand both the hopes and concerns that come with beginning this journey. Consider sharing more details about what specific aspects of treatment worry you most - whether it's managing daily activities, preparing for appointments, or something else - as this can help others offer more targeted support and practical tips from their own experiences.

I totally agree that connecting with others who've been on Keytruda can really help ease those pre-treatment worries - you might also want to I in ask about practical things like timing your infusions around work or family commitments, since everyone's schedule and priorities are different.

I have been having Keytruda infusions 200mg. Every three weeks since January 2025. In addition I take daily oral Lenvima 10mg. The very rare Oncocytosis form of kidney cancer spread to my liver and my bone. It was seven years under NO treatment before there was spread. To date I have had tumor shrinkage and no further spread.
