6 months agoHello everyone, I had my right lower lobe of my lung removed 3 weeks ago. I am meeting with my oncologist on June 2 18th for a consultation for stage 2 lung cancer.

Three weeks post-surgery is a significant milestone in recovery, and having that oncology consultation scheduled shows great progress in taking charge of this journey. Many community members find it helpful to prepare questions ahead of time for their oncologist meetings, and this supportive community is here to share experiences and encouragement as you navigate each step of your treatment plan.

5 months ago greetings all – I had the upper lobe of my right lung removed on June 20. For those of you that are facing surgery it’s not that awful. Just make sure you take the pain medication. Also, be kind to yourself. Sleep plenty. I went to visit an oncologist yesterday. My tumor was a 2A and she is recommending chemotherapy and immunology. I have to say I felt like I was at a used car lot as the medical staff was so pushy with me. I am having second thoughts about the chemotherapy and immunology. I don’t understand why they would want to do it as I am technically cancer free at this point, and there was no involvement of the lymph nodes. I don’t understand why I can’t just get a CT scan every six months and live a healthy life. Have any of you experience something similar to me? What did you do?

5 months agoI had basically same surgery 2 weeks ago except mine was lower lobe. Stage 2B tumor removed with adjacent lymph nodes. All margins and lymph nodes are clear. I was told by surgeon that no chemo or radiation would be needed. I will go to oncologist to set up scans starting at every 3 months, then 6 months and so on for 5 years.

3 months agoI had robotic surgery 12/23 for Stage 1 lung cancer (adenocarcinoma). Nodule, margins, and 9 lymph clear nodes removed. No other treatment. Still getting CT scans every three months. Other nodules remain, but they haven’t grown since 2023. A little nerve wracking waiting for CT reports (as I am now), but I’ve been very fortunate to have stable results each time. I was 76 and healthy at the time (now 78). It took about a year to get my strength back after surgery. Exercise regularly and remain hopeful.
