a year agoHas anyone had reconstruction following a lumpectomy. I still have the SAVI device in, but my breast has an odd flatish spot. I just don't know if it would be worth it or not. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Many people in this community have explored reconstruction options after lumpectomy, and it's completely understandable to have questions about the changes you're noticing. Connecting with a plastic surgeon who specializes in breast reconstruction can help you understand what options might be available and whether the timing would work with your current treatment plan - they'll be able to give you the best guidance based on your specific situation.

6 months agoI just came home from the hospital today. Thankfully it was outpatient but my surgeon did reconstruction as part of the surgery. That’s what I read in my surgical report today so I don’t know how things are at the moment. Still mummified but I’ll try to let you know how it feels and looks once I heal up a bit.

6 months agoThe swelling has gone down and my breast looks pretty good. The reconstruction gave my breast a rounded appearance and feel from where they removed the tumor. And to be honest, it seems a little perkier. But you need to decide if you want to go through surgery again or if you’re okay with that flat surface. Unfortunately, I have to have another surgery because they didn’t get clear margins on the pathology report. So I’m hoping they can keep the reconstruction as is.
