a year agoHas anyone heard of or had a Goldilocks mastectomy? Met with my surgeon yesterday and said that would be a good option for me once I finish my chemo.

A Goldilocks mastectomy is a newer surgical approach that aims to remove just the right amount of breast tissue - not too much, not too little - while prioritizing both cancer treatment and cosmetic results. This technique has become more popular as surgeons work to balance effective cancer removal with preserving as much healthy tissue and natural breast shape as possible. Many community members have shared positive experiences with different mastectomy approaches, and connecting with others who've been through similar procedures can provide valuable insights as you prepare for this next step in your treatment journey.

6 months agoIt’s a mid- range mastectomy. Not flat, not reconstruction. They remove the bad tissue and move the remaining tissue into “mounds” or bumps. Like having a smaller breast. I had to look it up but that’s what I’m going for. Bilateral so I’d be symmetrical.
