7 hours agoI had parotid gland cancer then 7 years later tongue cancer. Surgery was a year ago and treatment ended in February. My feeding tube was removed. The "good" side of my tongue feels like pins and needles and sore when I attempt to eat. Still on smoothies and some soft food. Still going to speech therapy. My tongue is shorter thus hard to pronounce L's and TH's. Hope I can hear from someone about their similar experience and any advice.

2 hours agoRecovery from tongue surgery often involves a gradual healing process, and many in this community find that speech therapy combined with patience helps improve pronunciation challenges over time. The nerve sensations and eating difficulties are common experiences shared by others who've had similar surgeries, and connecting with fellow community members who understand this journey can provide valuable insights and encouragement.
