9 months agoMy lumpectomy is on the first of April, do I need to purchase special bras or things for smooth recovery
Accepted Answer
Many patients find that front-opening bras or soft sports bras without underwire can provide comfort during recovery, and having some button-up shirts makes dressing easier when arm movement is limited. Consider checking with your surgical team beforehand, as they may provide specific recommendations based on your procedure and can guide you on what items would be most helpful for your recovery.

6 months agoPam, maybe ask your surgeon. I had a lumpectomy with oncoplasty and when I woke up from surgery I was in the compression bra that they wanted me in for the first few weeks. Your surgeon can tell you if you need to purchase bras and what type is best.

6 months agoFind some great, cost/comfy cardigans and some buttoned shirts to make dressing easier. Yes, talk to your surgeon about bras and ask what you’ll be sent home with and what you should have on hand.

6 months agoI bought bras that open in front - but hate hooks and eyes as they press down on skin ! Wore them and just put a piece of tissue under opening. They also make zippers but I struggled with doing them up !

6 months agoVictoria Secret for me has the best surgery bras. The featherweight max sprorts bra. I love the material and there is nothing that digs into your skin. I just got done with surgery number 6 and it is my go to.
