3 months agoDiagnosed with ovarian stage 3 (peritoneal) 32 months ago. 6 rounds of chemo, also a hysterectomy, 2 years of immunotherapy (Avastin). Just tried lynparza and feet and legs blew up so I had to stop after 1/2 dosage for 2 weeks. Also a pet scan found 3 tiny lymph nodes so I had surgery on February to remove the dead benign lymph nodes. I’m not sure about taking another pill - 6 pages of side effects. Most of them quite debilitating so I’m probably sticking to the Avastin since it seems to still be working great with no side effects. Turned 79 in January and still working. Plus two falls - 1st fall broken wrist and broken nose. 2nd fall broke right leg. Still hanging in there. I’ve been threatened with being wrapped in bubble wrap when I go out!

a month agoMy surgery was a breeze and I’m definitely not a brave person . I was there about 8 hours but surgery was maybe 2-3 hours. No side effects. Went home after having a snack and using the bathroom. Had surgery on a Monday. Drove on Wednesday and went back to work on Thursday. I do sit all day but really had no issues. I was bloated but that’s from the anesthesia (gas expands your stomach). You’ll do great. Just think positively about a great outcome. 34 months ago I thought the worst but so far so good. Definitely easier than breaking bones!! Best wishes to you.
