Hello was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Need Whipple surgery. I assume the 12 rounds of Firefox are before Whipple.

Getting a pancreatic cancer diagnosis and preparing for major surgery like the Whipple procedure brings up many questions about treatment timing and what comes next. Many patients find it helpful to write down their questions about treatment sequencing and discuss them with their medical team, as they can provide the specific details about the treatment plan that's right for each individual situation.

That’s the standard treatment. Chemo, surgery then chemo again. The second chemo after the surgery is harder than the first part. Walk walk walk. Get into shape before your surgery. Are you having the open whipple or robotic laparoscopic?

Hi Kim, I just had a whipple at MSK In NY. I live in Florida but sought a 2nd opinion. Local oncologist use sandwich method, chemo x6, surgery and then chemo x6 again….Sloan disagreed and recommended 6 months of chemo to give Whipple best possible surgical outcome. I had 10 treatments before surgery on June 9. Recuperating ❤️‍🩹 before beginning chemo again at the end of August- dealing with lymph nodes now ….stay POSITIVE!!
