Thank you for sharing this part of your recovery journey. It's completely understandable to feel surprised by how things look initially after surgery, especially with expanders in place. Many patients find that their appearance changes significantly throughout the expansion process and reconstruction journey. The healing process takes time, and what you're seeing now is just one step along the way. Consider reaching out to your surgical team if you have concerns about your recovery - they can provide the best guidance for your specific situation and help set expectations for the months ahead.

6 months agoHi. I just had a lumpectomy with reconstruction on one breast and it’s still very swollen and looks a little bumpy too. I’m hoping once the swelling goes away that it’ll look more natural but it’s definitely smaller and perkier than my unaffected breast. Hopefully your breasts will be improved once the swelling goes away. But talk with your team if you have concerns.
