7 hours agoLooking for any women that had bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction and not end up they wanted. I had my spacers replaced December 2025, and 3 weeks later ended up with pseudomonas infection and lost an implant. Now I have been rocking the 1 hump for 5 months. I have decided I don’t want to keep walking around this way, nor do I want another 2 surgeries to replace my implant. This is also the side I had 30 rounds of radiation so the idea of someone poking around scares me. I am looking to see if anyone chose the same outcome, or had a mastectomy and chose not to do reconstruction. I called my plastic surgeon today to ask about moving forward to remove the other implant, and surprise they didn’t call me back…. He didn’t want to take out my implant because “it looks good, and if I change my mind the work wouldn’t have to be redone” also a Man and doesn’t know what this is like…

2 hours agoThis is such a personal and important decision that many women face after mastectomy complications, and it's completely understandable to feel frustrated when healthcare providers don't seem to fully grasp the emotional and physical impact of living with these challenges. There are definitely women in this community who have chosen to go flat after reconstruction didn't work out as planned, as well as those who opted against reconstruction from the start - hopefully some will share their experiences and coping strategies with you here.
